Overview
Faith, Ideology & Myths
When the Olerian wilds were tamed in ages since passed and the needs of the many were satisfied, the people of Olera were bound to seek something beyond survival. From festivals came celebration, from games came competition, from stories came meaning โ and, in time, faith.
Within roleplay, belief is neither forced nor required. To follow a faith, ideology, or myth is to give your character another part of their identity; something that can shape their values, ambitions, traditions, relationships, and place within the world. A believer may find purpose in their faith, a skeptic may challenge it, and another may simply inherit it as part of their culture or hold no faith whatsoever.
Some faiths are young, born within living memory. Others are ancient, carried across generations and preserved through ages long forgotten. Some may be built upon truth, others upon legend, philosophy, or things that were never understood.
Whatever their origin, the beliefs of Olera exist to give its people something more than a name and a nation. They give characters something to believe in, something to question, and sometimes, something worth fighting for.
In Olera, belief is not an obligation. It is an opportunity to give a character something more to believe in โ or something to believe against.
